Transit Hotel Near Port-Vila International Airport

Bank operating hours:
Banking service at the airport are available during airport operating hours. Currently, only National Bank of Vanuatu (NBV) operates a branch in the arrival area. However, ATM machines are available at both the international and domestic terminals for passenger convenience.

Baggage Policy at the Airport

As part of our security procedures, all passengers at Port Vila international airport must pass security screening where carry-on bags are X-rayed, laptops or metal items may need to be removed, liquids are limited to 100ml in a clear 1-liter bag, and prohibited items must be packed in checked luggage.

Prohibited & Restricted Items

To protect our environment from foreign pests and diseases. All the goods that an importing to the country, such as vegetables, seeds or animal products, must have an importation permit by the Biosecurity department.

No live plants or plant parts can be brought into Vanuatu unless you have an official import permit and pass quarantine inspection.

Vanuatu Duty Rates

A person over 18 years and over is allow to shop at the duty free shops in Port Vila International Airport.
Goods that will be listed below should be purchase within following limits:

Vanuatu Departure Tax

Travelling to Vanuatu, each passenger a required to pay departure tax, which is included in the ticked, so passenger would have to pay for it separately.

Quarantine

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, has rules and regulations for the import of goods and items into the country. All items such as vegetables, seeds, or any animal product must have an import permit by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forests.
All these good allow a payment fee, and with 5 kg each, if the good’s weight is over 5kg, then another fee will be charge.
However, it was the passenger’s failure to declare the goods, and it was found. The passengers are complying carries a fine up to 1,000,000 Vatu.

Located airside at the Departures Terminal of Port Vila International Airport, this facility is conveniently positioned opposite the main departure lounge for economy passengers on the ground floor. The facility operates daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, though its opening and closing times may vary depending on flight schedules. This flexibility allows it to accommodate fluctuations in passenger traffic, ensuring service is available during peak travel times.

Passengers arriving at the Port Vila International Airport, our dedicated guest relations officer will warmly greet you at the gate, holding a sign with your name so you can easily find them.
A guest relations officers will meet and greet the guest at the arrival gate with a personalized name sign. The guest will then be escorted through the fast-track immigration, assists with baggage and customers, and escorts them to their waiting transport for a smooth and efficient arrival.

VIP Departure Services

The VIP area at Port Vila International Airport as a limited space, however free WI-FI is available, refreshment, beverages, comfortable seats for guest relaxing before the flight. The VIP service staffs are available at the reception for any quires or assistance.
All the VIP guest have to go through security clearance, will be escorted to departure immigration lane, ensuring that there has a well-organized departure process. All passenger arriving is required to present their passport together with a fully completed arrival card for verification by an immigration officers.

Visa Requirements

All items that passengers bring into the country must be declared in accordance with Vanuatu customs regulation and biosecurity.

Airports Vanuatu provides a service to securely hold deposited items on behalf of passengers and will take reasonable care ensure they are safely stored during the holding period.
Baggage collection at Port Vila International Airport is managed together with the airline’s ground handling teams to make sure passengers receive their luggage quickly and safely.
  • Missing or damaged baggage - Please report it immediately at your airline’s baggage service desk in the arrival area.

Passengers at Port Vila International Airport Vanuatu are protected mainly by their airline’s conditions of carriage and international agreements like the Montreal conventions (covering delays, injury, and lost or damaged baggage), must meet immigration and security requirements, and should expect assistance such as rebooking or refunds for cancellations or denied boarding only according to airline policy, as Vanuatu has no fixed statutory passenger compensation scheme.

Travel insurance
